Position Overview:
We are seeking a Junior Transportation Planner with 1–3 years of professional experience or strong academic training in transportation or urban planning. This role will focus on supporting transportation planning and policy development, with opportunities to grow technical expertise in multimodal planning, GIS, and data-driven analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the development of multimodal transportation plans, corridor studies, and planning reports.
Support collection, GIS mapping, and analysis of transportation systems and travel patterns.
Conduct research on best practices in transportation planning and emerging trends (e.g., complete streets, transit-oriented development, active transportation).
Contribute to stakeholder and public engagement efforts, including preparation of materials and participation in meetings.
Support grant applications, technical memos, and planning documents for state, regional, and local agencies.
Collaborate with project managers and senior planners on planning studies and deliverables.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Geography, or related field.
1–3 years of professional experience in transportation or urban planning (internships acceptable).
Familiarity with GIS, data analysis tools, and planning/simulation software.
Knowledge of complete streets, multimodal planning, and FHWA/FTA planning frameworks.
Strong written, verbal, and organizational skills with an interest in collaborative, team-based projects.
